Just when you thought they could settle into their happy, finally divorced life, Brangelina have a brand-new problem to deal with. Well, more like Angelina Jolie herself, given Brad Pitt’s estranged relationship with his children.

For the second time in six months, their eldest son Pax was involved in a road collision that saw the 21-year-old crash into a car on his electric bike and leave a huge dent in the front passenger door. According to TMZ, Pax was riding his BMX-style electric bike around Los Feliz in Los Angeles when he ‘T-boned’ a car after riding down the street with no hands.

Thankfully, Pax wasn’t harmed and was able to ride off after re-aligning his handlebars but onlookers claim he was close to being ran over had he hit the car slightly earlier. It’s eerily reminiscent of his crash back in July, where he was rushed to hospital and ended up in urgent care safter suffering a severe head injury. Police said that he wasn’t wearing a helmet when riding through a busy part of Los Angeles.

Pax also crashed his Tesla car in May when he collided with a parked box truck outside of RED Studios in Hollywood, according to TMZ, but wasn’t hurt in the collision. His Tesla on the other hand? Not so much. According to police who responded to the crash, Pax was not under the influence and no report was taken as Pax exchanged information with the studio then was picked up from the scene.

The accidents are unsurprisingly taking their toll on Jolie. ‘Fortunately, he wasn’t hurt in the accident but it’s very clear he’s not riding with enough caution,’ a source says. ‘He’s an adult so Angelina can’t just take his e-bike away from him. She’s begged him to stop riding, but he loves it and is refusing so she’s got to rely on him being smart enough to realize that he needs to slow down. She was hoping the last crash would have scared him straight, but she also understands Pax, he’s a very determined kid and not the type to let one accident stop him, no matter how close a call it was.’

‘Angelina, and the rest of the kids, were all furious with him for not wearing a helmet so at least he’s now agreed to wear his helmet at all times,’ the source continued. ‘But he’s still riding really fast and apparently pretty recklessly, Angelina can’t help but be terrified that he’ll eventually test fate, she’s so worried, but what can she do?’

The new ordeal comes at a time when the Brangelina brood is otherwise drama-free, following Hollywood’s most protracted divorce finally coming to an end in December. Pitt and Jolie reached a settlement after eight years of legal stalemate, with Jolie’s representative noting that she was ‘exhausted, but relieved.’

Of course, there’s still the legal tussle over the former spouses’ vineyard, Chateau Miraval, to come – the trial scheduled for April this year. In court, the former Hollywood couple will argue over whether Jolie had the legal right to sell her shares in Miraval following their separation.

One would hope that this temporary time of peace before heading into the courtroom would bring more joy to Jolie’s life – but that’s the life of a mother of boys, right? At home, Pax is said to be fiercely protective of his mother and legally dropped has legally fathers surname.

‘The kids are very protective towards their mom, Maddox and Pax especially,’ an insider told Grazia. ‘It pains them to see how much suffering Angelina has been through. She’s been very careful not to burden the kids with specifics or try to turn them against their father per say. She’s adhered to all court mandates and given them every opportunity to see Brad whenever they wished to. But at this point they are all very much “Team Mom”, that’s just the plain reality of the situation.’

Outside of his life in the fast lane, Pax is a keen photographer and has joined his mother on production of her movie projects. In fact, Maddox and Pax had assistant director roles on her recent film, Maria. ‘They’ve done that quite a few times, and I think that’s good for them,’ Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter. ‘Pax tends to do stills and he gets brought in, and [Maria director] Pablo [Larrain] was wonderful and recognized that he was good at it.’

So, when he’s not scooting around Los Angeles at the speed of light, he’s enjoying family time and making a name for himself in photography – let’s just stick to that and let your mother sleep easy at night, shall we Pax?
