Kris Jenner accused of ‘ageing backwards’ with new appearance

The notorious momager is looking even more youthful than usual.

If you look up momager in the dictionary, there’s a photo of Kris Jenner. She’s one of the savviest women alive – and if she hadn’t pitched the idea of a reality show about her daughters, and the various drama going on in their lives to Ryan Seacrest in 2007, Keeping Up With The Kardashians would have never been born. And the world – as well as our Instagram feeds – would look incredibly different.

Seriously though, it’s hard to imagine modern-day life without this famous family. And since the show premiered, Kris has continued to manage her daughter’s careers from strength to strength. (In case you need a reminder, those daughters are: Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, who she shared with the late Robert Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie, her daughters with Caitlyn Jenner).

But it was on a recent trip to France – where she was supporting her daughter Kim, as she testified about being the victim of a brutal armed robbery – where fans went wild for Kris and her brand-new look.

The family’s A-list hairstylist Chris Appleton uploaded a series of pictures of the 69-year-old looking extremely glam to Instagram. She had a slicked-back bob, a stunning contoured make-up look, and not a hint of a wrinkle in sight – Kris looked incredible. So much so, some commenters were mistaking the momager for her second-oldest daughter, Kim.

‘I thought that was Kim posing as Kris at first… for the first photo,’ one fan commented, with another adding: ‘Thought that was Kim! She looks INCREDIBLE.’ It quickly led to headlines about how Kris is ageing backwards, like some type of Benjamin Button character – with many outlets comparing the new snaps to pictures of Kris within the past couple of years.

‘I thought Kim was posing as Kris at first…’

And surgeons have also been weighing in on her new look, too. ‘[She] appears to have had a combination of aesthetic treatments to maintain her youthful and lifted appearance,’ plastic surgeon Dr Lisa Friederich told the MailOnline. ‘It’s quite possible she’s undergone a surgical facelift or mini-lift. The tightness around her face, jawline and neck would be challenging to achieve through non-invasive methods alone, particularly in someone over 60.’

Others have also compared the pics to Lindsay Lohan’s new look (however Lindsay has said her appearance is down to is skincare and non-invasive treatments, including IPL facial lasers and Morpheus8. And Dr Friederich added Kris’s glowing skin might be thanks to similar skin rejuvenating treatments LiLo uses, which she says would also help with ‘any fine lines and uneven texture’.

Kris herself is yet to comment on any of the surgery rumours, but she has been super candid about the work she’s had done in the past, even letting viewers behind the scenes as she got a facelift and a neck lift on The Kardashians. In fact, cosmetic dermatologist Dr Michele Green noted (via the MailOnline) the matriarch has been the most transparent out of the family about the procedures she has had done. And Dr Andrew Peredo, who specialises in aesthetic procedures, told the publication he believed Kris – who is reportedly worth $170million – has spent the most out of the family on work, estimating she might have invested as much as six figures in her appearance.

In 2015, she further elaborated on some of the other treatments she’s had done, saying she’s used ‘botox and fillers and laser [treatments] and things like that’. She also said she had ‘a boob job in the ’80s after four kids because gravity took over’ – but that she later had a breast reduction as she ‘felt they were too big’. (There’s also been a lot of questioning over the years whether Kris has had a nose job, something she’s always denied.)

But honestly, if Kris has had another facelift? Good for her. (And we wouldn’t be surprised if the whole thing was turned into a storyline on the next season of The Kardashians.) The momager looks sensational, and she’s still – imagine this in Kourtney Kardashian’s voice – living life. Kris has hardly ever tried to deceive anyone into thinking her look is totally natural but, at the same time, she doesn’t owe anyone a comment on the speculation she’s currently receiving.

Of course, it goes without saying no woman needs filler/facelifts/skin rejuvenating treatments, whether they’re 69-years-old or not. And – thanks to surgery, impeccable wardrobes, and looking ridiculously Instagram-ready at all times – some will always argue the Kardashians have actively harmed women’s beauty standards. But, if you want to get any type of cosmetic surgery, and you can afford it, then go ahead: it’s all about the beauty of choice.  And that’s something we can imagine the world’s top momager would agree with.
