Taylor Swift’s future mother-in-law set for reality TV debut
Introducing Donna Kelce the TV star!

Do you know Taylor Swift’s mother-in-law? Well, you’re about to – as Donna Kelce has signed up to the US Traitors. Yep, that’s right, Travis Kelce’s mum will be playing the game – loosely based on party game Mafia, with Faithfuls and murderous Traitors – in the famous Scottish castle, which is scheduled to be shown on TV early next year.
So, just how will Donna fare in the spooky castle? Her famous NFL sons Travis and Jason have already started teasing her gameplan. ‘We’ve seen the evil side of Donna.
You guys haven’t,’ Travis joked, before assuring everyone: ‘There is no evil side. She’s the sweetest.’ We’d take a guess she might be a Faithful, but Donna left a more ambiguous message on Instagram, telling her 680,000 followers: ‘Sundays were just the beginning. I raised two playmakers, but now it’s Mama’s turn.’ So it sounds like she might be up for being a Traitor, too.
Both sons will presumably be glued to the TV when it’s on, as they’ve previously told listeners of their New Heights podcast they’re fans of the show – with Jason saying he’s recently watched it with his mom. You also might see Travis on the show at some point, as he added: ‘I just want to play the game, like it’s a show that I think I would have fun with.’
As usual, season four will also see a variety of reality stars play deception, including Love Island UK’s Maura Higgins, The Bachelorette’s Colton Underwood and Drag Race’s Monet x Change. There’s also a load of contestants from the Real Housewives’ franchise, including Lisa Rinna from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Candiace Dillard-Bassett from The Real Housewives of Potomac, Caroline Stanbury from The Real Housewives of Dubai, and Porsha Williams from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Oh, and you might remember Real Housewives of New York’s Dorinda Medley had a very short stint in the castle last series, and thanks to fan demand, she’s being brought back too.

Donna might have very famous football-playing sons – and an extremely famous daughter-in-law – but she’s started to become more of a celebrity herself, especially since Taylor and Travis started dating back in 2023. Last year, Donna graced the cover of Glamour for their Woman of The Year photoshoot, alongside Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles, Billie Eilish and Finneas’ mom Maggie Baird, and Selena Gomez’ mom Mandy Teefey. And Donna, a former banker, told the publication ‘being a mom is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life’. ‘It’s so much easier to just go to work, but raising children, when they’re totally dependent on you and you’re trying to do the best you can with the limited resources that you have, it’s the most daunting task I’ve ever had to do,’ she added.
She also said fame has impacted their day-to-day lives as a family, and they have to go to extreme (and expensive) lengths to spend time together in public. ‘We can’t go anywhere, really,’ Donna revealed. ‘If we want to do something, you have to rent out the restaurant or the movie theatre or whatever. I do get to sneak away every once in a while, and we go to places that nobody knows where they are.’
Paparazzi aside, she’s used to film and TV cameras, as she’s recently turned her hand to acting – starring in not one, but two of Hallmark’s Christmas movies. She featured in Christmas on Call, and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. Why two? So as not to leave either son out – Holiday Touchdown was set in Kansas City, a nod to Travis’ team, while Christmas on Call was set in Philadelphia, a nod to Jason’s former team.
Donna is far from shy, and following filming, she said being in the flicks was a ’dream come true’. When she was asked by People if she took any advice from her son Travis, who made his acting debut in 2023 on Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie, she replied: ‘No, we both kind of leave each other alone when it comes to that – we’re both authentic though.’
‘he shot for the stars.’
Donna hasn’t said loads about Travis’ relationship with Taylor, but last year, she did hint she had her seal of approval. In an interview with Wall Street Journal, she revealed Travis was ‘happier than I’ve seen him in a long time’. ‘God bless him,’ she added. ‘He shot for the stars!’
In the same interview, Travis himself called Taylor ‘a genius’ and ‘incredibly ‘hilarious’. He also said he was ready to ride with the media circus the pair attracts. ‘I’m not running away from any of it… The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life,’ he said. ‘When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.’
And what’s next for the couple? Who knows. But fans got really excited in April, when Donna liked a comment on Instagram which said: ‘Trav’s going to make a wonderful father, just like Jason [who has four children].’
