Just days after Denise Richards’ husband of six years, Aaron Phypers, filed for divorce after six years of marriage, it’s been announced that her reality TV series Denise Richards & Her Wild Things won’t be returning for a second season. The series followed herself and Phypers and their family life with her daughters.

According to TMZ, the series was always meant to be a ‘limited feature’ and there were no plans for it to grow.

But we may still see her on our screens soon. Reports say Richards may make a cameo on the upcoming new season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – she was previously a cast member – to open up about her split from Phypers. Their Malibu wedding ceremony was even filmed for an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, with fellow Housewives stars Lisa Vanderpump and Camille Grammer in attendance.

The couple began dating in 2017, got engaged back in January 2018, and got married in September of that year.

In his filing for divorce, Phypers cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ and has requested spousal support. Divorce court documents reportedly show that he has been spending $105,000 (£77,000) a month despite the fact that he was not earning any income.

The Daily Mail has reported that he hasn’t had any income since October 2024 when he stopped working at the Malibu wellness centre that he owns, Quantum 360. ‘I had to close down my business last year and have made [no] income since,’ he told the court as part of his divorce petition, which was filed to Los Angeles Superior Court.

He also allegedly does not have any property or money in the bank, which is why he is seeking spousal support from Denise in order to help cover his rather large monthly expenses, which include $18,000 (£13,200) on rent, $7,000 (£5,150) on child care, $10,000 (£7,370) on groceries, $15,000 (£11,055) on eating out, $5,000 (£3,685) on laundry and a whopping $20,000 (£14,740) on clothes and $15,000 (£11,055) on entertainment. All expenses declared amount to $105,000 (£77,385).

Phypers also divulged in these divorce documents how much Richards earned, presumably to justify the expenses that he is looking to claim.

In the court papers he has claimed that Richards earns over $250,000 (£184,250) a month, with her income derived from OnlyFans appearances, TV shows, brand deals and personal appearances.

In a March episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, Richards herself opened up about her opposition to ever getting divorced again.

‘It’s not easy being married to me, but this is it, I’m done,’ she said on a March episode of the reality show. ‘I’m never getting divorced again,’ Richards insisted. E’ven if we hate each other, I’m not gonna f****** get divorced.’

Phypers added that even if they lived in separate houses, ‘We’re not gonna hate each other.’

Richards divorced Charlie Sheen in 2005, after marrying in 2002 and having two children together named Sami and Lola, who were born in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Richards also has a daughter named Eloise, who she adopted back in 2011.

During an appearance on One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer’s Whine Down podcast, Richards revealed that her and Sheen have different ideas about how to bring up their girls, and didn’t feel necessarily that they were coparenting.

‘Truthfully, it wasn’t co-parenting,’ she said. ‘I parent my way. He parents his way, and there was no co-parenting.’

‘I have kids with him, and I’m not really — I’m friendly with Charlie, but I wish we were friends,’ Richards admitted, revealing she wished ‘that we could talk all the time and be able to be there really for each other with our girls. But that’s just not the relationship we have.’

‘Maybe one day. But, I mean right now, there’s nothing. There’s no discord between he and I, which is great.’

She added that she always wanted to have a ‘blended family’ with Sheen and his new partner Brooke Mueller, who Sheen has twin sons – Bob and Max – with. ‘I was always an advocate of wanting everything to be great and be friends and blend the family because he had two boys with his wife after me,’ she said. ‘I just didn’t want the girls to feel like they had to choose sides.’

Phypers and Richards had their share of relationship drama back in 2020, when fellow Housewives star Brandi Glanville detailed an alleged affair between herself and Richards, which she denied.

While Glanville claimed the affair took place, and added that Phypers was aware of the situation and accepted it, Richards has continued to refute these claims. Glanville insisted that it happened, though, stating that they had sex while Richards’ daughter Lola was asleep downstairs.

During an explosive Housewives episode, she claimed that her first sexual encounter with Richards took place the night that they met, during a dinner that was shown during season nine of the series.

‘We completely click, we get absolutely wasted, we go to the restroom, and all of a sudden, we’re making out,’ she said. ‘I wasn’t expecting it, but I was like, ”Alright, I’ll go with it! I’m wasted, you’re pretty, let’s do this!”’
