Why Kendall and Kylie skipped their famous sibling’s wedding
The sisters did not RSVP to his last wedding in 2018 either.

Noughties playboy and former star of The Hills, Brody Jenner and pro surfer, Tiarah ‘Tia’ Blanco got married in Malibu last weekend. The wedding took place at Brody’s mother, Linda Thompson’s house with 60 to 70 guests including his other parent Caitlyn Jenner in attendance.
The couple got engaged in June 2023 after a year of dating. Brody, 41, who now works as a DJ and producer, got down on one knee to propose to Blanco, 28, during their baby shower and their daughter Honey Raye was born a month later. By all accounts, and by that we mean pictures and videos on social media, the wedding was a raucous affair with several DJ sets, Brody (literally) crowd surfing and a lively after party in Thompson’s shed. There were also plenty of sweet moments including the couple cutting the cake with their two-year-old daughter.
‘Last night was truly something special,’ the reality star wrote on his Instagram story the following day. ‘We had the best time celebrating with all of you. So many photos and videos to come! Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such an unforgettable night. We felt so much love and couldn’t be more grateful.’
There were, however, a few notable absences at the special occasion. Namely, Brody’s famous half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and his stepsiblings, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob Kardashian. His best friend Spencer Pratt was also nowhere to be seen – something he joked about via his own Instagram story, sharing the People article about the wedding in one slide, and another of a long-lens picture of the newlyweds kissing at the altar with the caption ‘@brodyjenner I didn’t call the helicopters’.
With all due respect to Brody and Blanco, it’s very possible the helicopters were hoping to catch a glimpse of his A-list relatives. However, given how intimate the ceremony was, and that the siblings are not necessarily on the most intimate of terms, it’s unclear whether Kendall, Kylie and the Kardashians were even invited.
In 2018, when Brody was last planning his wedding to his ex-wife Kaitlynn Cater, who he divorced in 2019, he revealed that he’d sent invites to Kendall and Kylie but had not heard back from them. ‘My two little sisters, we never even heard from them,’ he told People at the time. ‘We sent them an invite, but we just never heard anything back. Well, they’ll be missed. I would have loved to have them there.’

Perhaps the sisters forgot to RSVP to this wedding too – or, more likely, perhaps Brody decided to save them the trouble by not inviting them to begin with. As has been explored many times over the years on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the Jenner-Kardashian family dynamic has always been relatively fraught.
When Caitlyn first attempted to reconnect with her children from her first marriage during season eight of the show, Kris invited Brody and his brother Brandon on their family holiday to Greece. During a yacht trip, Brody and Kris had a particularly awkward conversation about their past relationship and conflicting values. ‘I’m gonna be brutally, brutally honest with you,’ Brody said to his then-step mother. ‘You need to look at yourself and think, “Are these things really what’s important in life?”’ However, Kris was quick to remind him the yacht trip was the reason they were having the heart to heart to begin with. And the cameras might have been a reason he wanted to come.
Other episodes over the years showed Kendall reconnecting with her brothers over their shared sporty side, Kylie spending more time with Caitlyn in her home in Malibu and the Kardashians sharing memories of their childhoods with Brody and Brandon, but the effort seems to have somewhat fizzled on both sides in recent years.
None of which necessarily means there is bad blood between the relatives, but there does seem to be a distinct lack of closeness in their everyday lives. In 2023, for example, Kylie liked Brody’s post where he announced that he and Blanco were expecting a baby and in 2024 Brandon confirmed that his three children have met Kylie’s children, but said they are not able to spend much time together because of their conflicting schedules.
This is something many people in large families can relate to – and there’s probably not much more to it. It’s just unfortunate timing given that Kendall, Kylie, Kim, Khloe and Kris flew all the way to Venice for another high-profile wedding the week before – that of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and long-term friend of Kris’, Lauren Sanchez. The famous family descended on the Italian city in their private jets with a full glam squad along with Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom and Oprah Winfrey and 200 other guests. The three-day spectacle, coming in at €40 million (£34m), saw the famous couple essentially commandeer the entire city for a long weekend and, unlike Brody’s 2018 nuptials, was clearly worth RSVPing to.
Call it what you want, a blow or natural drifting apart, but Brody and his bride seem perfectly happy with their garden nuptials being A-lister-free. And they even got a few invasive helicopter shots for good measure.
