Forget White Jeans, The Fashion Set Is Wearing These In-Demand Trousers Instead
Love them or hate them, capri pants are back.
By Gemma Lavers

Dressing for summer in the city is perhaps the hardest genre of dressing to nail. If, like me, you can completely relate to not wanting to wear denim cut-offs or open-toe ballet flats on the tube, then this newest trend might be one for you. Now, before you recoil at what I’m about to say – that capri trousers are back – let me stop you. The polarising mid-calf trouser, pedal pusher, capri pant, whatever you want to call it, is, quite honestly, the only item I’ve found that actually works for looking chic and staying cool when the temperature rises. Not shorts but also not a full pair of jeans, this relic of early 2000s holiday wardrobes is something gloriously in between, and has become a must-have when braving the tube in anything over 20 degrees.
As with most trends on our radar, Nobody’s Child is leading the capri pants charge with its White Denim Capri Trousers, a pair made from a comfortable organic cotton that’s nowhere near as stuffy as a pair of classic white jeans. The length is perfect, as the style cuts off at the bottom of the knee with a subtle flare that feels more Parisian-chic than Y2K throwback. And the colour? A true bright white that doesn’t suffer from the usual high street pitfall – it’s not see-through in the slightest.

When it comes to styling, wear to the office with a button-down striped shirt and a pair of kitten heels. Alternatively, for weekends, wear with a ribbed tank top and strappy sandals. White capris also make for an easy canvas to jazz up with summer accessories, whether that’s a raffia tote bag, sleek sunglasses, or even a vibrant silk scarf styled as a belt.
While we usually struggle with either overheating in jeans or feeling somewhat exposed in shorts, this chic Nobody’s Child take on capri trousers might just be summer’s most pragmatic (and chic) solution. The Nobody’s Child denim capri trousers are now also on sale, with almost 50% off on each of their three colours: dark denim, black and my favourite, the ever-versatile white.
