Dressing for summer in the city is perhaps the hardest genre of dressing to nail. Now, before you recoil at what I’m about to say – that capri trousers are back – let me stop you. The polarising mid-calf trouser, pedal pusher, capri pant, whatever you want to call it, is, quite honestly, the only item I’ve found that actually works for looking chic and staying cool when the temperature rises. Not shorts but also not a full pair of jeans, this relic of early 2000s holiday wardrobes is something gloriously in between, and has become a must-have when braving the tube in anything over 20 degrees.
