I tried the expensive-looking M&S jacket the internet loves – it’s 100% worth the hype

It’s going viral for a reason.

As someone who does the majority of her clothes shopping online, sometimes you forget how nice it is to head into a physical store every once in a while. Also, as someone who tends to scroll the Marks & Spencer new-in page a couple of times a day, there was only one shop on my agenda last weekend, and not just for its Valentine’s Day dine-in for two.

And there was only one piece I was headed for when I entered the shop: the new Denim Relaxed Bomber Jacket. Despite the fact that it’s only been out a couple of weeks, I’ve already spotted the jacket more times than I can count on one hand on Instagram. It might have something to do with its cool dropped shoulders and adjustable drawstring hem at the bottom. Or, it could be because of the faux leather collar that elevates it further than your average denim jacket.

My thoughts, you ask? The Denim Relaxed Bomber Jacket feels so much more expensive than its £55 price tag, as it’s lined and is thicker than you’d expect. For sizing, I’d definitely recommend sizing down. I tried on a size medium, and as a UK 10 normally, I’d say it fit perfectly – slightly oversized so that I can layer a jumper underneath, but not so oversized that it drowns me.

Whether you choose to style the M&S bomber jacket with a pair of loose black trousers or lean fully into the Canadian tuxedo look with the matching pair of trousers, one thing is for certain – you’ll be retiring your other spring jackets in favour of this new M&S style.

Shop the denim bomber jacket below (before it becomes a sell-out).
