If you thought you knew the Hadid sisters, think again… There’s a new Hadid in town. Gigi and Bella – best known for being two of the world’s most successful models – announced last week they have a secret half-sister. Meet Aydan Nix, a 23-year-old creative from New York – who, with incredible cheekbones and a perfect pout, looks more than a little like Gigi and Bella.

The news of their half-sister was announced in a statement to the Daily Mail. Confirming the news to the publication, the sisters said they’ve been in contact with Aydan for a couple of years, after she discovered the connection following a death in her family. ‘Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19,’ they shared. ‘After his passing, she decided to take a genetic test out of curiosity, and that’s how she discovered a biological connection to us.’

So, how are they related? Gigi and Bella explained their father, Mohamed – following his divorce from Yolanda in 2000 – had a brief relationship with Terri Hatfield Dull, which resulted in the unexpected pregnancy.

And while the news of a secret sister over twenty years later might have been a shock, it sounds like Aydan has already settled into family life with the Hadids. ‘We first connected in late 2023, and from that moment on, we’ve embraced Aydan with open arms,’ their statement continued. ‘She’s spent time with all of us, including our dad, and we’ve cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family.’

Apart from the sisters’ statement, there’s not loads we know about Aydan. But we do know that at 23, she’s a few years younger than Bella, 28, and Gigi, 30. And like the sisters, she’s also into fashion, having just graduated from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan with a BFA in Integrated Design – her LinkedIn also explains she has work experience in editorial styling, branding, and cultural storytelling.

Aydan also has a lot more followers online than the average person, with almost 40,000 followers on Instagram. With chic outfits pictures, and endless glam snaps on the beach, it looks like Aydan is suited to the life of a model or high-flying influencer. But in the statement, the sisters stressed Aydan would rather keep an everyday life, free from celebrity. (And, honestly, who can blame her?)

‘As siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations—with Aydan included—about how to support and protect her,’ they wrote. ‘Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honor her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.’

As the sisters are already close, we presume Aydan might have already been introduced to Gigi and Bella’s boyfriends – as both the sisters are in serious relationships.

After they were first linked in October 2023, Gigi recently hard-launched her relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Bradley Cooper. The model has kept her relationship largely out of the public eye, but earlier this month she shared a sweet snap kissing the actor in a photo dump from her 30th birthday celebrations.

And according to insiders, marriage might soon be on the cards for the pair. ‘Gigi truly believes she’s found her other half,’ a source told the Daily Mail. ‘While she would love to marry Bradley someday, neither of them feels the need to rush.’

Both Gigi and Bradley have daughters from previous relationships – Bradley shares Lea, 8, with Irina Shayk, and Gigi is mother to four-year-old Khai with Zayn Malik – and it seems blended family life is working for the couple, with the source adding that both Irina and Zayn support their blended family dynamic.

Meanwhile, Bella is loved up with equestrian Adan Banuelos. In a recent interview with Vogue, Bella shared their meet cute – and it is seriously rom-com worthy, as the pair met she was being fitted for a cowboy hat at a horse show. ‘I just saw him and I always wanted the cowboy,’ Bella said, gushing that ‘he’s pretty gorgeous’. Almost unbelievably, the cowboy didn’t know who Bella was when they met, as he apparently told her: ‘I never knew who you were until I saw your face for the first time.’

And just like her older sister, Bella says she’s also keen to start a family. ‘Family is on my mind,’ she added. ‘I can’t wait to be a mom. I think that I’m somebody for a lot of people, but in the real intimate way of being the person that somebody can count on consistently, that will change my life for me.’ Bella says she never had a prescriptive idea of marriage, or being a mother – but that’s now changed. ‘It’s got to a point where I’m like: “You know what? That’s something that’s for me.” I think that would make me truly happy.’
