Did Hailey Bieber just shade Justin? Hilarious, if so
The couple have both posted ominous things on social media that suggest trouble may be afoot.

Speculation is rife that Hailey Bieber threw shade at husband Justin on Father’s Day, of all days, in a since-deleted comment on one of his posts.
On one of Justin’s numerous Instagram posts, where he’d posted that he’s ‘a dad that’s not to be f**ked with.’ Hailey commented on this post: ‘Father’s Day sucks ass’, but has since removed her comment. Was this a clapback?
The now-deleted post is likely in reference to a post Justin made on Mother’s Day earlier this year. To celebrate, Hailey posted a series of snaps of herself and Jack – and none with Justin in them ‘I love being your mommy Jack Blues. Happy Mother’s Day,’ while Justin wrote online: ‘Love u moms but mothers day sucks ass.’
He also posted: ‘Good luck today for anyone navigating Mother’s Day.’
It has caused many fans to wonder whether Hailey posted in anger and then deleted her post with regret, or whether it’s a running joke between the couple.
This isn’t the first time that Justin has recently raised eyebrows at the way he talks about Hailey online. Shortly after her cover interview with Vogue, he wrote a confusing and undermining social media post recalling when he told Hailey she would ‘never be on the cover of vogue’ during an argument.

He posted: ‘Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight, I told hails she would never be on the cover of vogue, yikes I know, so mean, for some reason because I felt so disrespected I thought I gotta get even.
Think as we mature we realise that we’re not helping anything by getting even, we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection.’
Fans are divided as to whether this post was a sentimental throwback to a since-solved argument or a way to throw shade at his wife and her success. But the fact Hailey has posted and then deleted such a pointed comment, linked to his previous posts, makes us wonder if trouble is afoot.
Justin posted multiple erratic posts on Father’s Day, some alluding to drug use – he has discussed getting sober back in 2014, but posted a picture of a joint – and another referring to Hailey as a ‘lil ho’.
Within the series of posts, he also posted a screenshot of a chat with a friend where he wrote ‘asking a traumatised person not to be traumatised is simply mean.’
He posted a long Instagram story that read: ‘People keep telling me to heal. Don’t you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already. I know I’m broken. I know I have anger issues.’
‘I know i’m broken.’
‘I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them.
‘And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry. The harder I try to grow the more focused on myself I am. Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others. Because honestly I’m exhausted with thinking about myself lately, aren’t you?’
He also shared an obscured text conversation with an unnamed ex-friend. ‘Quit asking me if I’m okay,’ he wrote over the conversation on his Instagram Story. ‘Quit asking me how I’m doing. I don’t do that to you. Because I know how life is for all of us. It’s hard. Let’s encourage our people not [to] project our insecurities onto one another. Your concern doesn’t come off as care. It’s just oppressive[,] weirdo.’
He acted aggressively towards paparazzi earlier this week when they approached him leaving Soho House in Malibu, clearly feeling exasperated at them following him around.
‘Not me today bro,’ he said. ‘How do you think it’s going with you in my f**king face? Get out of my f**king face! Stop asking me how it’s going. Get out of here. I’m a real man with a real family … I’m not to be f**ked with by any of you.”
“I’m at my wit’s f**king end is what I am at,” he said, suggesting the paparazzi would edit the clip out of context, to make it look like ‘Justin lost his mind.’
Justin and Hailey first met backstage at Today, a US morning TV show, back in 2009 after Hailey’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin, introduced them. She has also opened up in the past about procuring a potion at 12 years old to seduce Justin, of whom she was a ‘superfan’.
‘My dad flew me to meet with this witch who lived in the mountains, and she made this specifically for me,’ she said. ‘She told me that it would make a young Canadian popstar fall in love with me, so yeah, been taking this one for years.’
They got married in Manhattan in September 2018 after a 12-week relationship, as well as a ten-year friendship. They then held a second wedding a year later, where Hailey’s father gave her away. The couple renewed their vows in 2024, which coincided with their pregnancy announcement.
In a joint interview with Vogue back in February 2019 – less than 6 months into their marriage – Hailey and Justin confirmed that they were seeing a marriage counsellor.
‘The thing is, marriage is very hard,’ Hailey said. ‘That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard.’
