Ana de Armas is currently one half of one of Hollywood’s biggest power couples, as she’s reportedly dating acting legend Tom Cruise, 63. But, speaking to Italian publication F Magazine as she starred on the cover, the 37-year-old actress has shared her desire to start a family – if she’s in a good place, relationship-wise.

‘Yes, I would like to have children and a family, soon if possible,’ Ana told the publication, according to the Daily Mail. ‘But it doesn’t just depend on me. As we know, love is unpredictable, you never know when true love will come. Relationships can’t be controlled: life is not a movie.’ Ana also seems like she’d be well suited to motherhood, as she told the magazine she has an ‘immense instinct to protect children, because they are defenceless and innocent beings who need adults to feel safe’.

It’s been rumoured Ana and Tom have been together since February – yet neither of them have publicly confirmed whether they’re an item (and there has been a lot of speculation they could simply be friends).

Ana does not have any children, but Tom has three, Suri, from his marriage to ex-wife Katie Holmes, and he has two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, from his marriage to ex-wife Nicole Kidman. (It’s worth noting Tom has not been photographed with Suri, who is now 19, since 2013 – and it was widely reported following his divorce with Katie wanted ‘to protect Suri from Scientology’.)

For Ana, her last headline-hitting Hollywood romance was with Ben Affleck, after the pair worked together on Deep Water. They started dating in March 2020, but split less than a year later, with sources saying they broke up as Ana wanted to settle down with kids (and Ben already has three children – Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13 – from his marriage to ex-wife Jennifer Garner). ‘He would not commit to having more kids,’ a source told Page Six. ‘She is in her 30s. It was a deal-breaker.’

In the past, it’s been reported Tom has taken more of a mentor role to Ana, as they both recently starred in high-octane action films: Tom in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Ana in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, where she plays an assassin ballerina. And speaking to F Magazine, Ana says she’s taken inspiration from Tom – in trying to do as many of her own daredevil stunts as possible.

‘I also like to shoot as many action scenes as they let me without stunt doubles, until the situation becomes dangerous, and then I leave it to the professionals,’ she shared, ‘I’m not irresponsible.’ Ana also revealed some of her more extreme training for the film. ‘I had to prepare myself physically, learning various martial arts, and also practicing with different types of weapons,’ she added. ‘I learned to fight with everything: nails, kicks in the right places, axes, knives, even ice skate blades.’ Yikes.

And, in other news, it seems Ana and Tom’s relationship might have even had the nod of approval (or maybe a raised eyebrow) from Katie Holmes, as it was recently reported the actress liked an Instagram post from the Daily Mail ‘confirming’ Ana and Tom’s relationship. (Katie and Tom welcomed Suri and married in 2006, but the pair divorced six years later in 2012.)

Rumours about Ana and Tom started back in February, when the pair were photographed enjoying a meal on Valentine’s Day. But it was in May the rumour mill went into overdrive, as they attended David Beckham’s glitzy 50th birthday party together – with the pair later spotted on a walk on Ana’s 37th birthday.

According to a source, the pairing must be the real deal, otherwise he wouldn’t have taken Ana to the footballer’s bash at three Michelin-star restaurant Core in London. ‘Tom has known David for 25 years. There is no way he would bring someone to David’s 50th unless it was serious,’ the source told The Mail on Sunday. ‘Tom’s not that kind of guy. People at the party were talking about how it must be serious if Tom invited Ana to join him at such an intimate event. Everyone else was there with their wives and husbands.’

But the most shocking news of all? Apparently Tom spent an eye-watering £8,662 on Ana. No, not on a gift – but on transporting her to Heathrow airport, for her return to New York City, in his private £1million helicopter. According to The Sun, the actor paid £4,850 to charter the helicopter to Heathrow, and then another £3,812 making sure Ana could check in to the airport’s VIP Windsor Suite. ‘Tom wants Ana to know she can have the best of the best and doesn’t think twice about the bill,’ a source told the paper. ‘He’s a total gent and just wants to do right by Ana. If that means splashing the cash then so be it.’
