While trench coats and scarf coats reign supreme for day to day, evening calls for something a little more – shall we say – dramatic. And nothing says drama quite like a fur coat. Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen the M&S Faux Fur Jacket all over my Instagram and TikTok at least 10 times a day, with fashion influencers calling it a ‘timeless piece’ they’ll wear for years and dubbing it ‘the perfect fur jacket’ Naturally, I knew I had to get my hands on it. The biggest challenge? Finding it in stock.

As I embarked on my journey to find the M&S faux fur jacket, I visited three (!) M&S’s before I finally got my hands on it – but boy was it worth it. As soon as I slipped it on, I felt expensive. I was wearing simple blue jeans and boots underneath, but the faux fur jacket instantly elevated my look, making me feel like I was ready to take on the world. It also looks and feels like an actual vintage coat you’ve thrifted – but under £80. Bargain? We’d say so.

In terms of styling, the options are endless. Pair the coat with your favourite bold knit, jeans and trainers, and for something slightly more formal, team with a suede skirt (or tailored trousers) and knee-high boots. If you’re heading for the slopes this winter, style the jacket with thermal leggings, a scarf and earmuffs for the perfect après ski look.
