Jennifer Lopez suffers face injury on set of new film
She needed stitches!

Being a popstar is a risky business – as Jennifer Lopez has recently proved. The singer, 55, had her rehearsals for the American Music Awards dramatically thrown off track as she had to get stitches in her face. Jennifer documented the nasty injury on her Instagram stories, first sharing a selfie with an ice pack over her nose captioned ‘so this happened’, before posting another image where you could see the cut on her nose.
But, luckily as a high-profile popstar, you get access to the best doctors – and J.Lo reassured fans she’s on the mend. Taking a picture with her surgeon Dr. Diamond, who was one of the former stars of the reality series Dr 90210, she gave a shoutout for her medical care. ‘Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond,’ she wrote. ‘A week later and a whole lotta ice, I’m good as new.’
And thankfully she is getting better, as the popstar will be hosting the huge awards ceremony in just two weeks’ time. It’s an awards show that she shares a lot of history with, as since making her debut in 2001, she’s won seven awards and performed at the event ten times. But it’s been ten years since she hosted the show in 2015, and performed a dance medley to 14 of the year’s biggest chart hits. (Think Uptown Funk, Anaconda and 7/11…) ‘We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick off celebration of summer,’ one of the organisers said of J Lo’s involvement. So, just who knows what 2025 awards will have in store.

But it’s not just hosting and singing, on the acting side of things J.Lo is booked and busy. The actress has just finished filming on upcoming Netflix movie Office Romance – which will see the legend return to what she does best: rom coms. To celebrate, she shared a gorgeous clip dancing on a beach, in a dreamy pink gingham dress from Reformation (which we now expect will be featured on many Instagram grid posts this summer).
She’s starring alongside Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein in the flick, something an insider told the MailOnline she was very excited about, following her divorce from Ben Affleck last year. ‘After a very tough start to 2025, Jennifer can’t wait to start a new project and it certainly helps that she will be working with a very handsome and smart star like Brett,’ the source dished. ‘He is one hot ticket and a real class act with talent to back it up – he not only acts but he writes amazing scripts. He is like the younger, better, British version of Ben. She thinks he is very cute.’
Speaking of Bennifer, the divorce between the pair has now been finalised, but they are still trying to sell their Beverly Hills marital home. Initially, the 12 bedroom, 24-bathroom property (yes, you read that right) was put on the market last July, but estate agents have now slashed the price to $60 million, which is the price the couple paid in 2023. (If you have a spare $60million knocking about, the 38,000 square foot house also has a guest penthouse, a two-bedroom guardhouse, a 12-car garage,
basketball courts – and a pickleball court. Oh, and there’s mountain views too.)

‘We know she’ll bring one-of-a-kind energy.’
Ben also recently shared his thoughts about the whole divorce debacle with GQ, insisting there wasn’t a ‘major fracture’ behind their split. ‘There’s a tendency to look at break-ups and want to identify root causes or something,’ he told the magazine. ‘But honestly … the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting,’ he shared with the magazine. ‘There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue [about our divorce]. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, “Hey, what happened?” Well, there is no, ‘”This is what happened.”‘ He added: ‘It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.’
But what he did acknowledge was they both have differing attitudes to fame, and how they deal with it. ‘My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers,’ he added. He also said last year’s documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, didn’t have a part to play in their second split. ‘I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture,’ the actor said. ‘It’s not like you can watch that documentary and go, “Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had.” It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.’
