Inside Meghan and Harry’s double date with Brooklyn and Nicola
The internet is shook.

In one of the most unexpected double dates of all time: Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly been round Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s for dinner. We don’t know what they had to eat but there was apparently one big topic of conversation around the table at the Sussexes’ Californian mansion: tricky families.
If you’ve briefly glanced over any entertainment news within the past few weeks, you’ll have probably seen reports Brooklyn Beckham and his heirress wife are said to be feuding with the rest of the Beckhams – so much so that Brooklyn decided to skip his dad’s glitzy 50th birthday party at three-star Michelin restaurant Core in London, even though he was in the UK.
And if there’s anything Harry and Meghan know about, it’s a family fight (after all, the pair walking away from their royal duties in 2020 is one of the most famous fallouts of all time). Apparently, the dinner, which happened last week, was organised before all of the furore about Brooklyn missing his dad’s big birthday.
But still, the tabloids are calling the get together Beckxit, in a homage to Harry and Meghan leaving the Royal Family. ‘Harry and Meghan were very empathetic and very kind to them both,’ a source told The Sun, who broke the story. ‘Harry was fully aware of the situation and offered Brooklyn his unwavering support as someone who has been through similar.’

The source added the women have bonded over the way they have been painted in the press. Since the Beckhams’ reported fallout, blame has often fallen at Nicola’s feet, who married Brooklyn in 2022. There’s also been reports Romeo Beckham’s girlfriend model-turned-DJ Kim Turnbull has been used as a ‘scapegoat’ in the drama, as Kim and Brooklyn used to be close.
‘Nicola and Meghan also had a bit of a “deep n’ meaningful” as obviously both women have been positioned in the media as homewreckers — the women to tear apart their husbands’ families,’ the source said. ‘Meghan had a lot of sympathy for her, and said there was shared common ground,’ they added. ‘They didn’t meet in relation to recent developments and headlines, but it was an honest but very welcome coincidence.’ Such a welcome coincidence that apparently the group all swapped numbers.
Earlier this week, the Mail reported Brooklyn and his parents aren’t speaking right now – even though David and Victoria have reached out. David extended an olive branch to Brooklyn on social media, saying that he was missed at the birthday bash. A source also recently told The Sun that Victoria has been having ‘sleepness nights’ over the fall-out, and is desperate for everyone to make up, with a source telling the paper ‘Victoria and David have worked hard to get things back on track’ since Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding in 2022.

As for David? Apparently he’s ‘desperate to make amends’ with Brooklyn as he fears history is repeating itself following his fall out with his father Ted in 2005 (the footballer didn’t speak to his dad for two years as his parents divorced). ‘David and the family genuinely fear Brooklyn could be lost to them forever,’ a source told The Sun. ‘The word “lost” here, is especially poignant as it was the exact sentiment used when David fell out with his dad.’
The paper also separately reported that Brooklyn and Nicola might also be about to spend even more time in the US, as the pair are set to open a dog shelter in California – with The Sun reporting that they’ve filed paperwork to register the non-profit under both their names.
On Harry and Meghan’s side, the royal family feud was recently back in the news after Harry gave one of his most illuminating interviews, following a court ruling about the level of security Harry, Meghan and their children receive while in the UK. He called losing the case an ‘establishment stitch up’, and he also begged his father, King Charles, for a reconciliation.
‘I don’t know how much longer my father has’ – prince harry
‘I don’t know how much longer my father has,’ Harry said, ‘he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff but it would be nice to reconcile.’ (Last year, the king was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, something which he is still receiving treatment for.)
He also revealed some his family won’t ‘forgive’ him since his memoir Spare was released – but he’s keen to move on. In one of the most poignant quotes from the interview, Harry said there was ‘no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious’.
We can only imagine what advice Harry dished out to Brooklyn and Nicola.
